Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) Set 19 years after Episode III, the Rebel Alliance, led by Princess Leia, fights against the tyrannical Empire. A young farm boy named Luke Skywalker discovers he is the son of Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) and is trained as a Jedi by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Together with Han Solo, Chewbacca, and other allies, they attempt to destroy the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) The Rebels face a major defeat as the Empire strikes back, capturing Han Solo and freezing him in carbonite. Luke seeks further training from Jedi Master Yoda and confronts Darth Vader, discovering the shocking truth about his parentage. The film ends on a somber note, with the Rebellion in a vulnerable position.
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983) The final installment of the original trilogy sees Luke confronting Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine to redeem his father. The Rebel Alliance launches an assault on the second Death Star, while on the forest moon of Endor, a team attempts to disable the shield generator. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) The story is set before the original trilogy. Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi discover a young slave named Anakin Skywalker who is incredibly strong in the Force. They believe he may be the Chosen One destined to bring balance to the Force. Meanwhile, a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious is manipulating events to gain power in the galaxy.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) Ten years later, Anakin has grown up and become a Jedi apprentice. The galaxy is on the brink of war as separatists threaten to break away from the Republic. Anakin and Padmé Amidala, now a senator, become targets of assassination attempts. Anakin and Padmé's forbidden love grows, while political intrigue deepens and leads to the emergence of the Clone Wars.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) The Clone Wars escalate, and Anakin's inner turmoil intensifies. He struggles with fear of loss and his desire for more power to save those he loves. Manipulated by Darth Sidious, Anakin falls to the dark side and becomes Darth Vader. The Jedi are betrayed, and the Republic transforms into the oppressive Galactic Empire.
